Maqqie wint de NLJUG Innovation Award 2025

Ede, 6 november 2024 – Tijdens de 21e editie van J-Fall, de grootste Java-conferentie van Europa, is voor de zevende keer de NLJUG Innovation Award uitgereikt. De winnaar van dit jaar is Maqqie.

Uit twee genomineerden, geselecteerd door een onafhankelijke jury, koos het publiek van J-Fall Maqqie als uiteindelijke winnaar.

Maqqie ontwikkelde Clai, een innovatief AI-platform dat het naleven van Nederlandse cao’s (Collectieve Arbeidsovereenkomsten) radicaal vereenvoudigt. Waar dit proces voorheen wekenlang handmatig werk van juristen en payrollspecialisten vergde, analyseert Clai nu automatisch cao-documenten in slechts enkele minuten.

Gebouwd op een moderne Java-stack met Spring Boot en Kotlin, maakt Clai gebruik van geavanceerde AI-modellen (zoals Claude Sonnet 4.5) en OpenAI-embeddings om complexe arbeidsvoorwaarden te interpreteren en mogelijke compliance-risico’s te signaleren. Het resultaat is een enorme tijdsbesparing, minder juridische risico’s en een helder financieel overzicht van eventuele afwijkingen.

De jury prees Maqqie voor de vernieuwende toepassing van AI binnen de Java-wereld en roemde Clai als een oplossing die complexe juridische processen toegankelijk en efficiënt maakt. Daarmee is Maqqie een terechte winnaar van de NLJUG Innovation Award 2025.

De NLJUG Innovation Award wordt jaarlijks uitgereikt aan bedrijven, projecten of personen die zich het afgelopen jaar opvallend hebben onderscheiden op het gebied van technologische innovatie. De winnaars worden gekozen door een onafhankelijke jury en de NLJUG-community, die hun stem uitbrengen na zorgvuldige beoordeling van de genomineerden.

Maqqie Wins the NLJUG Innovation Award 2025

Ede, November 6, 2024 – During the 21st edition of J-Fall, Europe’s largest Java conference, the NLJUG Innovation Award was presented for the seventh time. This year’s winner: Maqqie.

From two nominees selected by an independent jury, the J-Fall audience voted Maqqie as the overall winner.

Maqqie has developed Clai, an innovative AI-powered platform that radically simplifies compliance with Dutch Collective Labor Agreements (CLAs). What once required weeks of manual review by legal and payroll experts can now be analyzed automatically within minutes.

Built on a modern Java stack with Spring Boot and Kotlin, Clai leverages advanced AI models (including Claude Sonnet 4.5) and OpenAI embeddings to interpret complex labor conditions and identify potential compliance risks. The result is a dramatic reduction in time and legal risk, along with clear financial insights into any compliance gaps.

The jury praised Maqqie for its groundbreaking application of AI within the Java ecosystem, highlighting Clai as a solution that makes complex legal analysis faster, more accurate, and more accessible. This makes Maqqie a well-deserved winner of the NLJUG Innovation Award 2025.
